This incident follows a series of conflicts involving Lucinda, including disputes with both Belle and co-star Samie Elishi. The situation escalated so dramatically before Maya's arrival that Samie stormed off in anger during a previous altercation. Just a day earlier, Lucinda had playfully—yet provocatively—smeared a cream pie in Samie’s face during a game called Snog, Marry, Pie, accusing Samie of being "unsupportive" regarding her controversial relationship with Sean.
