HOW ONE PICTURE MORPHED INTO A FOLK SONG, WHICH EVOLVED INTO A
MUSIC VIDEO - a film by Bob Altzar Djurdjevic
Funny things - our Third Eye and Third Ear. With the help of our
Spirit guides, they can create magic. Here's a case in point…
friend from Serbia posted a picture yesterday. Here it is…
This is a church in Sremska Mitrovica, the largest town in the
district of Srem where I attended middle school high school. The
picture created an instant musical association. I heard the
sounds of the Serbian folk song "Divan je kiceni Srem"
(Beautiful is the gilded Srem). We used to sing it at parties
during high school. But that was in the 1960s. I have not heard
it since. And I have NEVER played it before.
Something made me walk over to the piano and start playing it.
It's an easy tune in the waltz rhythm. Then I remembered that my
late father also used to sing it, accompanied by a Gypsy "tamburica"
band (tamburica is a small guitar, like a ukalele here in
Hawaii). So I looked up a tamburica version on Youtube.
And then I added some of the photos I took over the years in and
around Sremska Mitrovica., and put it all together into this
music video. Enjoy!
